How To Spend Your Birthday at Disney Parks
A birthday is a day to celebrate you and your entrance into this world! Celebrations that include being surrounded by family and friends, doing something fun and just stuffing your face full of birthday cake! Or if you happen to be in the neighborhood of a Disney park, you could spend your special day at the Happiest Places on Earth! For someone who has spent quite a few birthdays at a Disney Park, I want to share with you some of the perks and extra special magic that come with spending your birthday at Disney Parks!
Birthday Pins (Pixie Dusted and Regular)
Pins are synonymous with Disney Parks, whether they be trading pins or shirt pins celebrating every major achievement like graduations, special occasion like weddings and (you guessed it) birthdays! At the City Hall on Main Street USAs in all the major Disney Parks, you can go in and ask for a FREE birthday button with your name on it from the Cast Members. You will even be treated to special Happy Birthday call and song from your favorite pal Goofy!
If you or your prince or princess have the chance go be transformed by the Fairy Godmother and her Godmothers-in-Training at the Biddidi Bobbidi Boutique, they will even sprinkle pixie dust on your button for a little extra sparkle!
Serenades by Dapper Dans
Main Street USA is the perfect atmosphere to do a little birthday present shopping in all the stores down Main Street but also where you can run into my favorite barbershop quartet, the Dapper Dans. Trust me when I say this: if they see you with your happy birthday button on, they WILL sing to you! The Dapper Dans perfectly harmonized voices love to spread a little birthday magic as they sing to you that familiar song! They will even pose for pictures with you after their set so keep a look out for them!
Birthday Princess Sash
If buttons weren’t enough to announce to the world your day of birth, they are Birthday Princess sashes that are available for purchase at either the Biddidi Bobbidi Boutique (with the purchase of a transformation package) or at the World of Disney stores. These sashes are perfect for pinning your birthday button onto it to show off your birthday style as you walk through the lands of Disney Parks.
Pixie-Dusted at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique or Sir Mickey’s
One of my favorite things about work at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Walt Disney World during my College Program was getting to pixie dust guests after their transformations. But also the Boutique offers the chance for anyone to get pixie dusted for free! Just go up to any Boutique Cast Member or into the Sir Mickey’s store at Walt Disney World and asked to be pixie-dusted. The Cast Members will be happy to add a little extra sparkle to every birthday prince and princess!
Cast Member Magic
What makes Disney Parks stand apart is the wonderful service of its Cast Members in spreading magic and cheerful help for whatever guests may need. This also extends to making guests feel special, valued, and welcomed though saying “Happy Birthday” to every guest who wears a button or “Congratulations” if you’ve just gotten engaged or married. Cast Members LOVE to make magical moments and memories for guests whenever they can so if you wear a birthday button or sash, be prepared to be greeted by every Cast Member with a Happy Birthday or be given free FastPasses to a busy attraction or priority seating at a restaurant or nighttime show/parade! Cast Members are always looking for ways to serve guests to help make their trip and experience more magical and birthdays are certainly no exception!
Fun Birthday Restaurants
If you’re like me and you LOVE food, especially Disney food, here is a list of some of my favorite great quick service and full service sit down places to have your special birthday meal!
