How to Add Disney to Your Home or Workspace

How to Add Disney to Your Home or Workspace

Being a Disney fan all my life, I always knew that when I had my own home, I would want to showcase that love. Now that I moved out on my own and subsequently got married, I have found that adding that bit of Disney to my home and workspace is easier than I thought! So, I would like to share how you can add a little Disney into your home or into your workspace.

Prints and Postcards

I believe that this is the easiest way to bring a splash of Disney into your home or workspace because all you have to do is find a cute poster or postcard and put it in a frame! My fellow Disney sissy, Erica, bought a set of Disney art postcards and over the years has each of us different cards with a sweet message! I have now put those into a frame and used as decoration. At the Disney Parks, there are always poster sets showcasing specific celebrations like the 60th Diamond Celebration for Disneyland or Mickey’s 90th birthday that you can frame as well! Anywhere you look you can always find cute posters or art pieces that can be used to decorate your home or workspace. Our friends over at Little Moon Dance have the cutest pieces of wall art as well! Just go looking for something that catches your eye and put it on the wall!

Signs & Books

Signs are another way to decorate your space that don’t require a frame! For a wedding gift, a family friend painting a “Be Our Guest” sign that hangs in our kitchen and it just ties everything in together so well! If you have any Disney novels or art books and some empty shelves, stack them up and put a clock on them to display this subtle nod to your Disney love. Or in the middle of your coffee table for something fun for your guests to read!

Figurines & Mickey Ears

For more obvious ways to add Disney to your space, figurines like Tinkerbell on the alphabet block or a Mickey and Minnie snow globe are a great way to showcase some of your favorite characters. Or if you are like me and you have a love of Beauty and the Beast, you can invite Lumiere and Cogsworth to be your guest on your mantle or bookshelf. Seriously, one of my favorite Christmas gifts! Disney mugs are also a great decoration that you can use for your hot chocolate or little succulent plant that you’re trying not to overwater.

My favorite way to decorate with Disney is with those beloved Mickey ears and trading pins! These always make me think of the memories and fun times I had while wearing these magical accessories. For a summer project, I decided to display my trading pins using a frame from IKEA and some cork board. I just love the way it turned out and how I can look at those everyday!

Whatever you decide to use to showcase your love of Disney, make sure that it showcases you and who you are! After all, that is what really matters!
