Disneyland's Plaza Inn Breakfast Review
The Plaza Inn Restaurant is a fun spot located on the top of Main Street in the hub area. It is open the whole day, but it is a hybrid restaurant. Breakfast is an ADR, sit down location and for lunch and dinner it is a quick-service location. Breakfast is a character dining experience and is one of the best character experiences you can have in any Disney Park. Erica and I made a reservation for 9:20am, but we checked in and were seated right after 9:00. Once you are checked in, they will walk you to the front of the restaurant where they have PhotoPass there to take photos that are for purchase, they are not included with a digital PhotoPass package or to AP holders. Once your picture is taken, you are escorted inside to the cash register. While this isn’t what I would call a quick-service location… it is also not a full-service location. You pay at the register and it is a large buffet, no server will attend to you. But they do clean up trays and plates when you are done with them.
The price tag is $32.00 a person before tax, no tip is necessary here. After the AP discount, my total came to $29.31, tax included. After you pay, they stamp your hand to verify payment and you are directed to a seat by a Cast Member. Once seated, you are welcome to get as much food as you would like. They have your usual breakfast items, fruits, pastries, cereal, Mickey waffles, and an omelet station. The food is very yummy and you can go back to the buffet as many times as you would like. Drinks include soda, coffee, tea, chocolate milk, and juices. Eat as much as you can, it can keep you full for hours!
Erica and I both got omelets, mine with ham and lots of cheese, Erica with every veggie they had available. I also got hash browns, sausage, a biscuit, a chocolate croissant, and a coke. Erica got Mickey waffles, some fruit, and bacon. The food options really are great and there is something for everyone. For $30, I felt like I got plenty of food to hold me over for the next 5 hours of the day.
The real reason people love this restaurant is the characters available here. Characters change daily, but here was our lineup during our visit; Minnie, Eeyore, Tigger, Pooh, Chip, Dale, Max, Pinocchio, Honest John, Captain Hook and Fairy Godmother. Isn’t that incredible?? The time it would take to meet all of those characters in a day is hours long, and yet in one hour we met all of them! We had a great time receiving roses from Chip, giving Pooh honey, and commission dresses from Fairy Godmother.
This location is perfect for families and the characters are so wonderful to interact with. There are no PhotoPass inside the restaurant, so be sure to have your phone or camera ready for great pictures. Have you ate here before? Let us know who your favorite character to visit the Plaza Inn was!
