First Timers Guide to Toy Story Land

First Timers Guide to Toy Story Land

Hooray! You’re on your way to being transported to a “toy’s-eye-view” of the fun Woody, Jessie, Buzz, and Andy’s other beloved toys are having in Andy’s backyard in Toy Story Land!

In Andy’s backyard, you can ride Slinky Dog Dash, a roller coaster that Andy assembled, take a spin on Alien Swirling Saucers, or walk through a new carnival game box to experience in Toy Story Mania!. There is also one quick service restaurant, Woody’s Lunch Box, which offers Mobile Ordering.

I recently visited Toy Story Land for the first time, and this post is dedicated to make planning your first visit easy and stress free!

What To Do First

Unless you snag a FastPass for Slinky Dog Dash, then 10000% you should get in line for that first!

If you’re staying at a hotel on property, then make sure you go to Hollywood Studios on a morning that they offer a Magic Morning so you can be one of the first people in line. Get there early! A half an hour to an hour before Magic Morning starts to go through security and such.

If you’re staying off property, and you aren’t able to snag a FastPass before your trip, then I’m sorry to tell you that you’ll have a long wait no matter what. But get there at park open and head straight over and just get the waiting over with!

What to Ride

Honestly, if you’re a Toy Story fan, you should plan to ride everything!

The winner of the funnest ride at Toy Story Land, in my humble opinion, is Slinky Dog Dash. So like I said earlier, make it a priority to ride first! It’s a good coaster for both adults and kids. I’d say that it’s a little more intense than Thunder Mountain, as at moments it feels higher up then Thunder does (simply because it’s on stilts and not “mountains”). But it is MUCH smoother than Thunder is!

If you’ve been to Cars Land at Disney’s California Adventure and you’ve ridden Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree, then Alien Swirling Saucers is just like that! Same ride setup, just themed around Buzz and the aliens.

Toy Story Mania is the same as it’s always been, so nothing has changed there!

What To Eat

there is only one place to eat in Toy Story Land, but it’s definitely worth trying! Grilled sandwiches and mobile ordering? Yes please.

We ordered our food through Mobile Ordering, which saved us from waiting in line. We had the Grilled Three-Cheese Sandwich with the Vegetable Macaroni Side Salad. Both were really good and totally hit the spot!

I hope this post helps you plan for your first time to the place where “you’ve got a friend” in all your Toy Story pals!
